ONLY COMPLAINT – HANDICAP GETTING TOO LOW!!
From: Tony Eley
Ed, I don’t know how you got all this stuff together, but it’s really useful (and readable). I am in my 70s, but still very competitive. I got a bit desperate last month when I was thrashed in a singles matchplay event by a guy I should (in theory) have easily beaten. It was one of those golfing days (I guess we all have them!) when everything went wrong. Worst of all, I couldn’t get my golfing brain working properly; all logical thought seemed to desert me! A few years ago, I read Bob Rotella and ‘The Inner Game of Golf’, but the info as presented by those 2 authors never seemed to grab me. I imagine some of your publication is derived from the same sources, but your presentation somehow makes much more sense to me than theirs.
I’m still trying hard to incorporate the mental part of golf into my routine game. My only complaint to you is that, last Monday, I shot a 78 off my handicap of 13 in the Seniors’ Monthly Medal, and I now have to play off 12!!
With very best wishes
Tony

17 TO 15 HANDICAP IN A SINGLE WEEKEND
Dear Ed
I read your free report on Friday, entered 2 competitions, Saturday entered the Lord Mayors open on a handicap of 16.7 shot a 67, 5 under par and won the net competition, handicap got cut to 15.5, entered a qualifying competition at my own Golf club Bowring shot a 69 qualified 1st and had my handicap cut to 15.1.
Very impressed and will be continuing to read your report on a regular basis to keep it fresh in my mind at all times.
Once again thank you.
Kind regards
Terry Sherlock

Enjoying Playing Again
“Have read your book and found that I related to the mentally negative golfer in a lot of cases. I have had three games since reading your book and have found it a great help already. It takes a lot less effort to change your attitude than to practice your butt off and week in week out and go out and make the same old errors time and again. I know your book is just what I was looking for as I am now determined to go out and enjoy the challenge and enjoy playing again as I did when I first took up golf instead of beating myself up mentally whenever I hit a poor shot so a big thank you and keep up the good advice. Regards Les”

First Ever Hole In One at The Old Course, StAndrews
“Thanks for the session last week. The thinking side of the game was all new to me, but it makes sense when all the top pros are doing it. I had my first ever hole-in-one on the 11th hole at St Andrews the day after and shot a scratch 67 on the Old Course so something must have worked! Kevin.”

Strong Mindset and Less Pressure
“I had never really thought much about the mental side of golf before and, to be honest, I didn’t think it was for me. But I now realize that it is just pure common sense and so logical. I can’t believe I’ve been needlessly holding myself back for so long!! I now realize I had a really strong mindset when I won my Club Championship in 1999 but I have since let my attitude slip. I had started putting too much pressure on myself and following our sessions I am now well on the way to getting my game back to where it was and hopefully even better! Thanks again Ed.”

Golf Visualization Techniques Worked on the Course
“Wow!! Just back from the course and tried out the visualization techniques you showed me. That’s the best I’ve played all year and I felt calm and relaxed the whole time. I had a blast today and didn’t worry about the consequences. It’s the most fun I’ve had on the golf course for a long time! Can’t wait to get back out!”

More Consistency through Effective Golf Instruction
“I was skeptical about the effect my thinking could have on my golf game. But after those first two sessions I realized just how much I had been holding myself back. I was talking myself out of shots and focusing on the wrong things. I was getting frustrated with myself and wasn’t enjoying my golf anymore. Thanks for showing me the better way to think!! With my new attitude I am enjoying my golf so much more now. My scores are getting better and I’m much more consistent.”

New Approach to Putting Golf Without Fear
“I used to dread short putts and was constantly worrying about three putting even when I hit it close. With thenew approach to putting that I have now I am totally fearless on the greens and actually look forward to getting a chance to hole putts of all distances. I am so much more relaxed over the ball and that is giving me the chance to score much more consistently. I still miss the odd putt but they are much less frequent and I don’t let it bother me like I used to. Thanks for your help! Ross”.
